The average, top and clearance all saw an increase at the Bullzeye Droughtmaster Sale at Nebo on Saturday, October 12, but there were still value buying options for those in attendance.
In all 47 of 54 bulls sold for an 87 per cent clearance, $7200 average and top of $26,000.
That was compared to 2023 when 55 of 64 bulls sold for an 86pc clearance, $6818 average and $13,000 top.
This year it was Eli Park Lego Master, sold by Jesse Barnes, Waylanbar J Droughtmasters, Emerald that reached the sale high when he was bought by Ken and Kerry McKenzie, Yaralla Droughtmasters, Blackwater.
GDL Rockhampton branch manager Joshua Heck said it was a buyers' market.
"There were a lot of bulls that sold for $5000 for a majority of the catalogue," he said.
"As far as value for the buyers, it was really good and to get nearly a complete clearance is always the aim.
"Buyers were looking for bulls with plenty of meat in their carcase; good meaty bulls that ticked most of the boxes, EMA and weight for age, they're always determining factors."
Most of the buyers hailed from the Nebo area, with bulls also headed to Clarke Creek, Springsure, Alpha, Emerald, Bluff, Julia Creek, Kynuna, as well as repeat buyers from Capella.
Among the bulk buyers was Wotonga Grazing, Moranbah who purchased nine bulls to average $5555, Macnicol Pastoral, Briaba purchased six to average $5500, 8PK Cattle Company, Charters Towers purchased four to average $5500 and Plath Grazing, Collinsville purchased four to average $5250.
